About me

Welcome to Unravel counselling.

The thought of speaking to someone about the intimate and most private parts of your life can sometimes be daunting or unnerving, so please rest assured that I offer a safe and confidential space where you can truly be or find yourself.

Do any of the thoughts or feelings below resonate with you?

Deep sadness
Depressed
Lost
Empty
Overwhelmed
Frustrated
Numb
Overthinking
Betrayed
Exhausted

Or perhaps you are struggling to figure out exactly what it is that you are feeling, thinking and why. In this case, please know that I can support you in working through this in a way that is receptive to the way you are as a person and respectful of your beliefs, personal choices and past experiences. I commit to working at a pace that is right for you offering a comfortable space, free from judgement.

If you are wondering whether counselling is right for you or whether I am the right person, enquiring can be the first step and we can unravel the rest together.

Training, qualifications & experience

What I can support you with

In my counselling practice I work with a range of issues such as low mood, anxiety, domestic abuse, complex relationships, low self-esteem and confidence, relationship breakdown and mental health disorders. I have also worked in genetic counselling working with people coming to terms with diagnoses and the impact of these as well as with emergency service professionals such as police, paramedics and HMPPS personnel working to overcome trauma.

I offer both short term and long term counselling depending on your needs and time. I believe it is important that you are in control of your own counselling journey and so we can discuss your needs together and I aim to work at a pace that suits you.

Students and Trainee counsellors

Alongside my counselling practice I work as an Associate University Lecturer teaching Counselling and Psychology to undergraduate and postgraduate students. If you are a trainee counsellor please get in touch as I was in your shoes once and will be pleased to support you through your journey.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
