About me

Welcome to HeadBloom Counselling my psychotherapy counselling practice. Through a collaborative approach, I work alongside you to create an active partnership, where your voice is valued, and your experiences are respected. Our therapy sessions are tailored to your unique needs, drawing from an integrative modality that embraces what works best for you.

I believe nurturing a strong relationship with yourself is the foundation for personal development and healing. Therapy is a great way to develop the tools to do this. I work in ways that honours the connection between mind and body to guide you on a journey of wellness, self-discovery and growth.

I work holistically, this means that I work with the mind-body connection to inform our work together, and to help you ground yourself.

Regardless of where you are in your journey, counselling can help to empower you to live authentically and thrive emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Whatever you are navigating, I will support you every step of the way.

My practice is built on the principle of inclusivity. I understand the significance of cultural competence. I am from a racialised background myself and I work to provide a safe space for individuals from all backgrounds and consider the full context of your experiences.

Furthermore, I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and my practice is committed to providing LGBTQIA+ and GSRD affirmative therapy, fostering an environment of acceptance and understanding.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and extensive training and CPD. I have worked with clients groups including displaced people, women, young people, I also have experience in secure forensic care. I also work as a counsellor delivering NHS Talking Therapies for people struggling with anxiety and depression.

I have a particular experience and interest in working alongside clients with relationship struggles, family dysfunction, narcissistic abuse, intercultural issues, cultural trauma, and sex and sexuality.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
