About me
A journey of self-exploration, comprehending one’s inner-scape, and healing, may feel intimidating to undertake alone. In therapy, I attempt to offer you a space where you feel seen, heard and acknowledged in all your uniqueness. Together, we can make sense of the shapes you have been moulded into by your experiences and explore the authentic shapes you aspire to embody.
How counselling can help:
Understanding our relationships, experiences and even our own selves can be daunting. It can be challenging to trust ourselves and our inner voices. Many of our deepest wounds stem from the sense of isolation that might come from attempting to fit into societal expectations and our interactions with others. A therapeutic relationship creates a space to explore deeper aspects of our identity, emotions and experiences. It also helps us understand how we relate to others, our social environment and to our own selves, potentially redefining what relationships can be.
Therapy offers the chance to discover and delve into our inner selves - those parts of us that might feel difficult to access, understand, share with others, and truly listen to. We can understand how our social environment shapes us, recognising the pain and pressure of trying to fit into a society that often overlooks the diversity of people’s life experiences.
I aim to support you in identifying and understanding your struggles, uncovering the strengths you already possess and developing a greater sense of self-awareness and self-acceptance.
About my practice:
My practice is psychodynamic, relational and trauma-informed. The psychodynamic approach facilitates an understanding of how past experiences shape current experiences, behaviours and difficulties. In a relational approach, the therapeutic relationship takes centre stage and becomes the space for the recreation of clients’ inner worlds and ways of relating, becoming the vehicle for personal development, growth and change. A trauma-informed approach enables me to remain sensitive to recognising and understanding the pervasive nature and impact of trauma on a client.
Every individual's journey in therapy is unique. My approach to therapy is collaborative and the counselling process progresses at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I tailor my approach to meet each client's needs in a non-judgmental, compassionate and confidential environment.
Our first session will be a 50-minute initial assessment to help us to get to know each other. This will be an opportunity to explore any questions you might have about my practice and for me to get to know a bit about your expectations from therapy. If we choose to work together, we will have 50-minute sessions on the same day and same time each week. We will review our work together regularly.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a COSCA-qualified psychotherapist with a Master of Counselling in Counselling (Interpersonal Dialogue) and an Msc. in Counselling Studies, both from the University of Edinburgh. I have been trained in a dialogue between the person-centred and psychodynamic approaches to counselling. While I am open to using perspectives from both depending on the needs of my clients, I am inclined more towards using the psychodynamic approach.
I have worked with general adults over 16 years of age with multiple issues ranging from workplace stress to bereavement, parenting difficulties, self-esteem issues, LGBTQIA+ issues and others. I work with survivors of gender-based violence and have worked with unpaid carers as well.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
