Hello, I'm Trish

I am a BACP Accredited Person Centred Counsellor and and i am on the BACP Register of Counsellors, (certificate number 012260) (see www.BACP.co.uk). I have 19 years experience as a counsellor working with a variety of issues and i hold full insurance cover.

During COVID 19 i am offering online sessions via Skype, or Vsee and phone sessions as well. Please contact me if you're in need of support through this time

I aim to create a warm safe environment of acceptance, empathy and honesty in the room where you can bring any issues you want and explore them with me alongside you. I will not judge or analyse, and will encourage open and honest communication and exploration between us.

I'm committed to providing counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment for you to speak freely about the issues that are of most concern to you in a way that is sometimes not possible with friends and family...

I work from a Person Centred / Humanistic perspective in all areas of my work and believe you know what hurts you and that you can, with support, find your own answers with someone alongside you.

I also offer Creative Therapeutic methods for those clients that are interested, such as working with a sandtray and objects, art materials, & other creative items such as stones or crystals

I offer general counselling for a wide variety of issues as well as having extensive experience of working in the areas of Anxiety, Childhood Sexual Abuse, Anger Management, Suicide and suicide bereavement, Ill health including cancer and chronic health conditions, and Post Natal Depression (PND)

I offer One to One Counselling to Adults; Couple Counselling; Therapy Groups; Creative and Therapeutic Group work, and Supervision

What else i offer

I am an experienced Supervisor; Lecturer and Trainer and regularly run workshops designed for individual needs; work as a teacher/lecturer on Counselling training courses at a local college; and also offer supervision to counsellors and other professionals who require supervision as part of their practice.

I offer clinical Supervision to counsellors, counsellors in training and other professionals who require supervision to help monitor their practice. I can see you 1-1, or i have the potential of providing small group supervision.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
