I am a counsellor / psychotherapist, art therapist, supervisor and trainer with over twenty-five years experience. I am a registered senior accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
What Can I Offer?
I offer weekly counselling and psychotherapy services in Pinner, Harrow, easily accessible from NW London and surrounding areas.
After you have contacted me we will arrange a time for a free confidential telephone consultation lasting 45 mInutes. This will give you an opportunity to ask me any questions and for me to understand the issue/s you wish to bring to counselling / psychotherapy.
My approach is Person-Centred, being non-directive and non-interpretive based on the belief that we are all unique and are both responsible for and capable of self-determination. I offer long and short-term therapy with appointments available in the early morning, daytime and evenings.
I bring to all of my work with adults, children, young people and couples, understanding, creativity and empathy gathered from many years experience developing voluntary and professional counselling services in schools, women's centres, GP surgeries, and addiction management agencies.
I can help in the following areas:
- Adoption & Fostering
- Anger & Conflict
- Anxiety & Stress
- Bereavement, Loss & Separation
- Confidence & Self-esteem
- Couples Counselling
- Life changes
- Panic attacks
- Women's issues
- Young people
I also tutored and co-developed a Foundation Degree in Counselling validated by Middlesex University.
What is Counselling / Psychotherapy?
Counselling / psychotherapy is when two or more people make an arrangement to meet regularly and have one person listen qualitatively to another, or others, in order to make a difference or change to their life.
The Person-Centred approach is a non-directive and non-interpretive model, based on the belief that individuals are both responsible for, and capable of making their own choices in life. I will not tell you what to do or judge you for the choices you make. We will explore together the present issues that have brought you to counselling and then look at them to see how they can be changed and you can feel better about yourself and your decisions.
How do I decide whether to have long or short term therapy?
This is dependent on what you are trying to resolve, address or change in your life. It also depends on how you wish to approach this issue at a deep process level or to use a solution-focused, brief therapy approach.
Together we can discuss these different ways of working either at our initial free telephone consultation or when we meet.
