Diane DuQueno M.A. UKCP Reg. Psychotherapist /Counsellor /Supervisor. MBACP Reg.
I am a professionally qualified and experienced psychotherapist & counsellor offering a sensitive, confidential therapeutic service to individuals, COUPLES and families. With over 25 years experience in counselling and psychotherapy in a variety of settings I provide professional and effective therapy in private practice. My training is at an advanced level (UKCP) and my clinical responsibilities have been within NHS psychotherapy and clinical psychology departments.
I offer therapy for individuals, couples and families who find themselves in an emotional crisis or who want to explore problems in their lives - some of which may have originated within childhood and adolescence. Many people tolerate chronic anxiety and depression when taking the small step to seek out effective psychotherapy can lead to recovery. Small babies are welcome with their parent(s) and there are facilities for whole family therapy.
My approach is responsive to individual circumstances and enables my clients to feel trust and reassurance whilst gaining the understanding needed to bring about relief from emotional pain. This may be by overcoming difficult past experiences and relationship problems in the present towards a greater sense of wellbeing. Often it is about recovering from some form of loss and finding of self. As your therapist I will be there to share the journey with you towards the restoration of feelings of self worth and harmony and wellbeing.
I have worked extensively in therapeutic services in a GP surgery, voluntary organisations, and the NHS, as well as private practice. I have a personal commitment to working with people from all walks of life, ages, sexual orientation, ethnicity and faith.
With a background of family therapy training and practice in a regional NHS psychological service I am able to offer family work within a private health centre that is flexibly scheduled.
I also see clients on behalf of employee assistance programmes (EAPs) and accident related insurance agencies.
My work is confidential and regulated by the Codes of Ethics of the UKCP and BACP
The Practice is GDPR compliant
I welcome enquiries by email or phone. I am available for appointments in the daytime and evening; I can be flexible about session times from week to week. I will return your call or email message within 24 hours.
I offer short term focused and open-ended/long term counselling and psychotherapy. This takes place weekly, fortnightly, or sometimes twice weekly. My approach is to work in partnership with my clients to support the gaining of insight, managing change in relationships and circumstances to bring about improvement in the quality of life and relief from stress.
I believe that it is important for the success of counselling/therapeutic work to feel trust and security with the therapist as well as confidence in their training and expertise.
An initial face-face consultation can be arranged without obligation to further sessions, usually within a few days.
