online psychotherapist and astrological counsellor UKCP (Skype option)

About me

Counselling is valuable for everyone at some point in their lives. I am an attachment-based psychoanalytical psychotherapist with 15 years experience. It is always important to establish a good relationship with your therapist/ counsellor so please feel free to email me or phone if you have any queries before your initial session.

I have a background teaching physics in high school. Observing how emotional distress affects all areas of a childs' life led me into the field of psychology. It was clear that emotional blocks in children affected their ability to concentrate in class which in turn meant they were not achieving their full potential. This also resonated with my own experience as a child and I felt compelled to find out more about myself through having my own personal counselling and therapy. I have found the experiences of self discovery valuable and essential; I hope that I can inspire others to learn about their true self which is sometimes hidden from the world.

I have a young son and work part time as a psychotherapist to adolescents, individuals and couples. I now use astrological counselling along with my 15 years of psychotherapy experience to help clients address their issues in an efficient and individual solution focused way.

Recent feedback since using astrological counselling:

"I have had more benefit from 4 sessions than my previous 9 months of counselling"

"Thank you, you have made me understand that me and my daughter are unique and now I have tools to work with our uniqueness and embrace it rather than fight against it."

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained as a psychotherapist at the The Bowlby Centre, which emphasises the importance of early attachments in our life. I have experience with a wide range of clients. Both female and male, gay and straight, clients of different ages, clients of different races and with different ethnicity. I also have a training in Play and the Creative Arts Therapies from the Lila Institute, I use sand tray therapy in conjunction with talking therapy to help our unconscious shadow side emerge, which is important for individuation.

Before my career as a counsellor I completed a degree in Mechanical & Structural Engineering and a PGCE in Physics teaching, and taught physics for 10 years in secondary schools in Sussex and London. I enjoy teaching and enjoy quantum physics, but I find the emotional and spiritual side of people the most fascinating and feel priviliged that I can help people to develop these parts of themselves.

I am also a supervisor to qualified and trainee therapists and have completed the supervision training course at the Jungian Society of Analytical Psychology.

I'm currently training with The Centre for Systemic Constellations, which helps individuals to understand how dynamics from their ancestral past still affects them today. And then guides them to a place where past traumas can be mourned and integrated, which in turn helps people feel more at peace with their fate and hand back any burdens of past relatives to where they belong.

Astrological therapy is a recent passion, inspired by Jungs' writings and it is proving an invaluable tool to help anyone understand themselves and inspire deeper integration with all parts of themselves.
