About me
I am a registered psychotherapist and counsellor with over 20 years’ experience of working in both private practice and the NHS. I work with adults of all ages who suffer from a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties. These difficulties frequently affect personal relationships, your work and inevitably the way you feel about yourself and can lead to feelings of being stuck, overwhelmed and a struggle to cope with life. Sometimes people find it difficult to identify a specific problem and may be confused about what they think or how they feel but do have a sense of something not feeling right. Others do know what is wrong but find they keep repeating the same unhelpful patterns despite their best intentions.
I provide a confidential space in which to explore these problems and so gain a greater understanding of the underlying causes. This can help you to make sense of yourself, to make changes and find more satisfying ways to live your life.
The Initial Consultation
This first meeting is generally a longer appointment up to 90 minutes. This gives us the time for me to hear more about you and the difficulties that have caused you to seek help at this time and for you to get a sense of the way I work and whether it feels right for you. At the end of the appointment we can discuss what would be helpful going forward and time for any questions you may have.
Other Information
Each session will be 50 minutes and will be on the same day and time each week. The frequency of sessions will be discussed in the initial appointment and can be one to three times a week depending on need and personal circumstances.
The fee is £50. I work weekdays and evenings.
My consulting room is in central Chelmsford.
