Marje Bryant MBACP Accred
Are you struggling with life? Are wanting to make changes to your feelings or behaviour?Talking things through in counselling may well help you to find a way forward. Why not give it a try?
I am a highly experienced counsellor and therapist having worked for over 20 years in a variety of settings. I work with men and women, young and old, both long and short term, with those who feel unhappy to those who have a diagnosed mental health problem.
I will see you in a quiet location in Topsham Exeter. There is plenty of free parking.
My counselling room is also close to the railway station.
What is counselling?
I work with you to help you resolve difficulties in your life. You maybe experiencing;
- physical symptoms such stress, panic attacks, anxiety
- emotional symptoms such as depression, anger, tears
- behavioural symptoms such as aggression, relationship problems, isolation.
I will make you welcome and at ease in a comfortable and inviting room. Here I will try to offer you a genuine and non-judgemental experience. I am aware that it may be difficult or scary to contact me to talk about whether you would like to come for counselling. I will try to be as supportive to you as I can and make it as easy as possible for you to talk about what is bothering you. This will be treated respectfully and in confidence and hopefully, as a result of our meetings, you will be enabled to make the changes that you would like to make.
I work in an integrated way using a wide variety of approaches. I will help you talk through and reflect on what is concerning you and your present situation. Together we can enable you to know and understand yourself and your present life better so that you can make the changes you would like to make be they in your feelings behaviour or relationships. This will hopefully lead you to a more satisfying life.
I am experience at working with a wide range of difficulties including bereavement. relationship difficulties, depression, anger management, self esteem / confidence worries, and difficult past or traumatic experiences.
I am a friendly, approachable and open minded person offering non-judgemental counselling to individuals. I believe in developing a warm and trusting relationship with you so that it can feel safe enough to explore difficult or painful issues. Alternatively, it may be a sense of not coping very well or generally wanting your life to be very different that could bring you to counselling.
I have a broad experience spread over 20 years and have worked with adults and young people in a variety of community settings including In Touch youth counselling, Rape Crisis Centre and with parents in Children's Centres. My current experience means that I frequently work with issues relating to pregnancy. I also have a private practice. I have recently become interested in the area of gender dysphoria and have ondertaken some specialist training in this area.
I offer creative ways of working for those who feel comfortable using them. This can be very helpful when words are not enough.
I have particular training and experience in working with those who have experienced childhood abuse or rape.
How many sessions?
I offer brief counselling ( 4-6 sessions) or longer term ( months or years) therapy according to your needs and situation. I also available for telephone counselling if that is going to suit you better.
