About me

I am a qualified and very experienced counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor based in London Victoria and in Devon (Exeter and Silverton) for which I have a separate counselling directory listing and website www.pauladishmandevon.co.uk

I offer both open-ended therapy and time-limited, solution focused therapy (CBT). I also work with couples experiencing relationship difficulties. I provide a confidential, safe and impartial space where you can talk about difficult emotional issues.

The kind of therapy I practice is based on Transactional Analysis but I have also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This allows me to create an environment that supports making both thinking and behavioural changes but also provides an opportunity to explore associated feelings and underlying beliefs.

I have experience of working with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties and with men and women from diverse backgrounds. I have particular experience of working with issues related to anger management, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, depression and eating disorders, including obesity.

I am a qualified supervisor and provide supervision to other counsellors and psychotherapists.

I am an affiliated practitioner for a large number of insurers and healthcare providers including ; AXA, Aviva, Oakdale,CIC, Triage, PPC, Right CoreCare, Compsych and the Treatment Network.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
