About me

As an experienced and fully qualified BACP Accredited Counsellor I understand there are times in our lives when we all experience problems and difficulties. Very often we are able to deal with these problems on our own or with the help of friends and family. However, there may be times when we feel we haven't been truly heard or understood. Or it may simply be that we are unable to share our feelings with those closest to us. Counselling can provide an opportunity to explore a difficulty you may have in a safe and confidential setting.

I am able to work with clients on a short or long term basis depending on individual need. My aim is to offer you an atmosphere of non-judgemental acceptance, empathy and respect as I believe these are the essential qualities of an effective helping relationship.

I established my counselling practice; Lakeside Counselling in 2005. Lakeside Counselling is a small, friendly and confidential practice, conveniently situated in Weston town centre. During this time I have worked with clients on a wide range of concerns and problems these include: Anxiety, Anger Management, Abuse, Bereavement and Loss, Childhood Issues, Depression, Low Self-Esteem, Relationship difficulties and Stress.

This list is not exhaustive so please feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss your particular concern.

In addition to running my own private practice I see clients for various Employee Assistance Providers. I also have experience working with several charities: Domestic abuse, assisting individuals return to work and working with the effects of childhood abuse.
