About me

I am a trained and registered member of U.K.C.P. - United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and I.P.S.S. - Institute for Psychotherapy and Social Studies.  I work as a counsellor and psychotherapist. I do both short and long term work.  I am experienced in a range of issues including bereavement and loss, depression, trauma, relationships, panic, anxiety, phobias, work issues, life changes, illness, abuse, and others

Some people come because they are in a crisis.  Others because they want to talk about a particular issue.  People also often wish to increase their understanding of themselves and their feelings.

Counselling and psychotherapy can for example help make unconscious beliefs and personal patterns clearer and understandable, giving us more choice in how we live our lives.  It can help to commit to a regular time away from the usual people and activity, to air and reflect on those things in ourselves and our lives we are really concerned about.

Counselling tends to focus on a particular issue or problem.  It is sometimes used as a way in to a more in depth psychotherapy
