About me

Clients often are referred to me with anxiety, relationship, self esteem and confidence challenges. I work from a humanistic integrative perspective, so focusing more on underlying emotional causes. However, often they won't know exactly why they are here until they start.

Come and meet me for a complementary, obligation free consultation in a quiet part of London Road Near the Duke of York cinema to see if you are comfortable with me. My approach is always client led so you are always in control.

I also work extensively with students studying counselling and offer a concessionary rate for both them and people who might be less able to pay.

My calendar changes often so it's best to contact me directly to set up a free introductory session. We'll spend about 50 minutes together so I can get some background and you can see how your feel with me. I will explain the process and what it means to work with me and then you decide in your own time if you want to work with me or not. If you do, you get in touch again to  book some sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a full member of the BACP and appear on the accredited register. I spent 4 years qualifying in Bournemouth on a fully approved CPCAB course. I have worked with a large variety of issues and situations and both privately and for the NHS as well as other agencies. I work primarily as a Humanistic Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor focusing more on emotions, which are the root cause of our deeper make-up, though I use cognitive tools and CBT practices when relevant. I also work as a coach in business, divorce and general life change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
