About me

I am an experienced psychotherapist, counsellor, supervisor and group facilitator. I qualified as a Gestalt therapist in 1991 and draw from other modalities.

My approach is humanistic and integrative and my style is relational, improvisatory and creative.  Among the traditions that inform my work are Gestalt, Person Centred, Existential, Psychodynamic and Attatchment based perspectives which I draw on according to the individual situations my clients bring.  My understanding is that a persons accumulated life experience from childhood onwards, contributes to how they manage their lives and relationshipis in the present.  My aim is to develop with my clients, a deep relationship which supports openness and trust, within which we can work together in gaining insight, and developing, ways of living and relating that enhance everyday life.

I work with people who bring a variety of issues and specialise in relationships issues, including people living in improvisational family situations, such as stepfamilies, same sex families and other variations of traditional forms.

I facilitate a monthly Saturday group that runs for a full day, and co-facilitate two fortnightly evening groups with Angelika Wienrich. These are mixed gender Gestalt groups with no specific agenda.

I also work at the Minster Centre, supervising clinical work and dissertations.
