I am an experienced relational counsellor offering short and long term therapy. whether you are depressed, anxious or looking to focus on specific issues, I provide a safe, confidential space in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings. Free initial assessment.
Above all, I aim to provide a space for clients to explore themselves and their concerns. I feel it is important to create the right environment for clients to feel comfortable, safe, accepted and understood. My counselling focuses on the here and now whilst making links with the past. I work with clients to help them achieve their potential and develop in a positive way.
I use a Relational Integrative Approach in my counselling. This is based on humanistic and psychodynamic principles which respect the individuality and particular needs of each client.
I am experienced in working with people who are:
- Feeling generally low (e.g. experiencing ongoing loneliness, a sense of futility, a lack of direction, moodiness, stress, confusion, anger, trouble sleeping, depression, anxiety)
- Facing a specific crisis (e.g. loss, change, trauma, illness, issues around fertility, abortion, relationship break-ups, divorce, bereavement)
- Wanting to improve relationships (e.g. experiencing difficulty forming and sustaining satisfying relationships, problems with personal or work relationships, difficulty with intimacy)
- Trying to come to terms with physical and / or sexual abuse (including victims of domestic violence)

My fee is £35 per session individuals/ £50 per session couples.
There may be occasions when you may need to cancel and I will try to accommodate you where possible. However, I do ask for at least 48 hours notice (except in exceptional circumstances), or you will be charged for the missed session.
The first step is to arrange an initial session where we can meet each other and discuss what you would like to achieve from counselling. It will also give you an idea of how I work and is an opportunity for you to ask me questions.
If you decide that counselling is for you and we both feel that we can work together, then usually, sessions are weekly and last for one hour. I offer short-term counselling, which can be as few as six or 12 sessions, or open-ended counselling which will continue until you feel ready to stop.
We can agree when we first meet how many sessions would be appropriate.
If you’re not sure about the kind of counselling you want or need, then please do get in touch – I’m very happy to talk through what I think we could achieve, with no obligations. I offer an initial assesment session free-of charge.
