Registered Accredited MBACP

About me

I am a BACP accredited counsellor and I offer a confidential face-to-face or online counselling service. I have over 26 years experience in working with individuals over the age of 18. I aim to respond to new client enquiries within 48 hours.

I provide a warm and non-judgemental environment where people can explore issues that are troubling them, such as difficulty in relationships, anxiety, loss and bereavement, depression and low self-esteem. Many people suffer with high levels of stress in the workplace and I work with many people in this situation. Stress can also lead to problems with anger so I offer help with anger-management. I believe it's good to talk and very often people find it easier to talk to someone they're not emotionally close to.

Having experienced the benefits of counselling personally, I provide a safe place for others to experience the same benefits through a counselling relationship which can help them discover solutions to their problems. I believe each person is unique and I draw on several different counselling approaches to find the one that fits each individual. The counselling process is like a journey and I am committed to staying with the client through their journey until they are ready to go it alone.

I am a qualified supervisor offering supervision to counsellors and trainees. I also offer supervision to staff who work in charitable organisations or agencies in the helping professions.

I have two parking spaces at my premises. Watton has frequent daytime bus services from the surrounding villages and towns.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
