I am an Integrative BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor.
I have a special interest in relationships, trauma, the effects of childhood and EMDR. I work with adults mostly with trauma, mental health, stress and relationship issues. I believe that the relationship is the key to moving forward from issues.
I am trained in Integrative, a cognitive behavioural approach and EMDR. I am a Certified SHEN Trauma Release Therapist. I charge £50 per session. I have 25 years of counselling experience. I have completed an 80-hour Online Counselling Course.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been counselling since 1994 when I trained and worked full-time in counselling, working with addictions, eating disorders, mental health, gambling and a wide range of personal issues. I offered group, couple, family and individual counselling, training and supervision over a 6 1/2 years period there. I studied Integrative counselling to Diploma in Edinburgh and achieved BACP Accreditation in 1998, BACP Senior Accreditation since 2005. I have a special interest in trauma and I am trained in EMDR.
I studied Reality Therapy (a cognitive/behavioural model), certificates in Abuse & Neglect, Eating Disorders, Stress Management, Assertiveness and Time Management. I have also studied Transactional Analysis, Transpersonal. I trained in Counselling Supervision and achieved Senior Accreditation as an individual and group supervisor in 2011 .
I worked with an EAP company covering Scotland then set up and ran a counselling service for a police force before heading up the Health, Care and Counselling department of a large college. I have been in private practice since 2006 as a counsellor and supervisor, I also write and deliver workshops, and training.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I counsel from my own purpose-built premises in Kinross with dedicated parking. I have been working with Zoom during the pandemic.
