What is psychodynamic therapy, which sounds a bit of a mouthful? Psychodynamic therapy is a therapeutic approach which aims to bring forgotten memories, unconscious feelings, and patterns of relating to the conscious mind, so they can be better understood. It explores the conflict between our expressed intentions and our actual actions, the ways in which we so often sabotage ourselves.
Many people feel anxious about seeking help, but I believe in treating clients with sensitivity and respect, offering a confidential, non-judgemental space where you, as an individual or a couple, can begin to explore your feelings and thoughts about any aspect of your life or relationship that is causing you difficulty. Having previously worked in a high pressure environment myself, I understand the additional stresses added by the workplace. By working together, I aim to help you gain relief from the symptoms you are struggling with - whether it's depression, frequent outbursts, panic attacks, drinking, sexual problems, sleeplessness etc- and bring about a lasting change in your ability to deal with emotional challenges and enjoy a more satisfying way of life.
