About me

DURING THESE DIFFICULT TIMES, I AM OFFERING TELEPHONE/VIDEO COUNSELLING FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE.

Please do feel free to contact me should you require any further information.

I am a very experienced, professionally qualified and Accredited Counsellor with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and my details and confirmation of my training can be found on their website.  I have over 19 years experience working with clients. I am also a UK Registered Independent Counsellor (UKRCP). Details of my qualifications can be found on the BACP website. I comply with their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.  I  work from Chingford, E4 with easy access from Highams Park, South Woodford, Woodford Green, Walthamstow, Waltham Abbey, Chigwell, Loughton, Buckhurst Hill and Enfield.

I have a background of working in the NHS for 11 years and have worked as a counsellor in private practice since 2005 having started my counselling training in 2000.

I provide a completely confidential, sensitive, caring and reliable relationship where you will be supported during difficult times. I work with clients from the age of 15 years upwards.

As an integrative/CBT counsellor, I am very experienced in helping with issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, panic disorders, panic attacks,  relationship and work issues, low self esteem, confidence issues, amongst others. Because, I am trained to work in a number of different approaches (Integrative) I am able to adapt our sessions to work with individual clients dependent on their presenting issues. Please feel free to take a look at my website at www.counsellingwalthamforest.com.

At times it can be difficult to confide in relatives and friends. You may not want to worry them with your feelings. Having therapy, enables you express your thoughts and feelings freely in a non-judgemental and confidential environment.

COGNITIVE-BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY (CBT)

I am also qualified to work with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and help clients find coping strategies for their issues to help them identify faulty thinking processes, which often contribute to their problems. CBT helps clients gain an understanding of how their thoughts, affect their feelings and in turn how these affect behaviour. CBT is now widely recognised as one of the most effective therapies for a range of issues.

HYPNOTHERAPY

In addition, I am trained in Hypnotherapy which is extremely helpful for numerous issues, including, depression, anxiety, IBS, low self esteem, panic attacks, low confidence , sleep problems,  unresolved issues, OCD etc.  My qualification for my Hypnotherapy practice is is Foundation in Clinical & Academic Hypnosis (British Society of Academic & Clinical Hypnosis)BSCAH

POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS

I also undertake work on occasions, on behalf of solicitors and have worked with many clients with Post-Traumatic Stress.

I have, at times,  vacancies for students who are on counselling courses and offer sessions at £40 per session.

TELEPHONE COUNSELLING

In addition, I offer telephone counselling for clients who, find it difficult, for any reason, to attend face to face sessions.

APPOINTMENT TIMES

I have availability during the weekdays (Tue/Wed daytime from 9am) and weekday evenings (6pm, 7pm and 8pm appointments). Other appointments may be available on request including Saturday sessions.

Parking is available.

Please click on my website, at the top of this page, for more details.

If you are still unsure whether counselling/therapy would be beneficial, please do feel free to telephone me for an informal chat and, I will be only too happy to discuss any concerns or questions you may have.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority.
