About me

Welcome and about Gregor :

Appointments are offered both in person sessions and also remotely if preferred.

Is life very difficult for you right now? Are you worrying, feeling stressed and overwhelmed? Do you ache to feel more relaxed and less anxious? Are you dealing with sadness, worry, loneliness, loss of relationship? Is it hard to ask for help, and even more so when searching for a stranger to confide in and rely on?

I understand the anxiety that goes with this process for you and will do everything I can to make it as comfortable as possible. My preparation to do this work with you includes the integration and healing of personal challenges such as depression, physical-mental-emotional trauma, occupational disillusionment accompanied by existential disconnect from meaning and purpose.

Following fifteen years in International Marketing roles based in London, New York City and the Middle East, I eventually felt en-abled  to let go and change paths and commence personal therapy and re-training to prepare to serve as a counsellor and then as a psychotherapist.

I now offer you over three decades experience in these capacities and continue to feel deeply fulfilled with the privilege and joy of  accompanying clients' healing themselves as much today as when I started this amazing journey! It has been my pleasure and privilege being with clients achieving ever deeper sense of their potential while feeling greater levels of happiness and fulfillment.

Growth and change occurs from within such a therapeutic relationship. I am told I am a warm and caring person, empathic and down-to-earth which helps clients feel relaxed, comfortable, supported and understood.  ( Please see "Testimonials" below ) We will create a trusting therapy relationship which provides a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can fully express and explore yourself. We will also work to explore your life issues, identify new possibilities, to allow you to move forward in your life.

Essentially I can help you become more in touch with your thoughts and feelings resulting in you being better able to make decisions that help you feel more authentic, truly expressing your deepest/highest sense of self, less stressed, happier and more satisfied at the evolving sense of who it is you are most becoming.

My Approach

This mainly combines psychodynamic, person-centred and psychosynthesis schools of therapy resulting in an integrative approach. Psychosynthesis is concerned with the realisation of human potential and at the same time with the harmonisation of all elements of the personality. Methods used can include creative visualisation, free-drawing, the training of the will, physical expression, writing, dis-identification and meditation.

Integrative counselling means drawing on and blending specific types of therapy. This allows the counsellor to explore an issue from a variety of distinct theoretical perspectives and uses concepts and techniques from each. I am influenced and sustained by Anglo-American citizenship, Russian ancestory, Judeo-Christian upbringing, and Buddhist spiritual traditions, while equally comfortable working with those who do or do not have a religious faith or spiritual tradition. People of all race, gender and sexual orientation are equally warmly welcomed into my practice.

Thank you for taking time to read this far. Do feel free to give me a call if you feel I may be of help, and if you get the voicemail, please leave a brief message, I will call you back very soon.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
