About me

If you’re on this site, you might be feeling anxiety, self doubt, overwhelm, grief, helplessness, loneliness to name a few. You don’t have to be alone in this. Online Counselling from your chosen safe space via video apps can really help. For some meeting in person feels right. I offer both. I’m in East Devon and Farnham Surrey.

Relationship issues, lonely, overwhelmed or depressed, struggling in general or because of specific events? Sometimes friends and family are unable to support you in the way you need. I have practises online, in East Devon and  in Farnham, Surrey. Walk and talks are available too.I offer professional, confidential, non-judgemental counselling for teens, adults and couples.

I use an integrated approach which means I draw on a range of skills and theories to adapt counselling to your individual needs. I am passionate about the work I do because I know it helps you on the path back to being yourself.

There is nothing too big or too small to bring to counselling but I understand looking for a counsellor can be a daunting thought. For some, life may have been difficult for a great while and an impartial, professional listener can be a welcome step to change. It takes courage to make that first step so it is important that you find someone who you can trust. To this end I offer an initial, no obligation assessment  for us to explore your hopes or fears about counselling. Together we can discuss how I could work with you to get what you need.

You may feel stuck, have family issues, be battling depression, managing anxiety or just know that life could be better. Counselling helps make sense of the difficulties you are having. I am trained to work in varied techniques and whilst I won’t tell you how to live your life, I will work alongside you to make decisions and find an understanding of situations and yourself.

My work in schools with children and young people has informed my practise where relationships, both professionally and in the home, can become complex. Changes in life and relationships, anxiety, illness, low self esteem, depression, anger and stress are just some of the issues I have experience in. I can offer long, medium or short-term work to help you with your issues.

As a humanistic practitioner I never underestimate the capacity for growth; whether it is support in gaining new perspectives, changing behaviours or thoughts, or building self esteem and positive self image; our counselling relationship can help you to explore in a professional, safe and confidential setting .

My job is to facilitate your exploration and understanding to enable you to make the change you want to achieve.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
