Jennie Roddick BA(Hons) MBACP
Each of us can go through times in our lives when we need more, or different support.
Life often makes a lot of demand on us. I can provide you with the space and time to explore your past and/or present. A space that's safe, confidential and free from judgement to enable you to face challenges and find solutions.
My original training is in Integrative Counselling and I have also more recently completed the NHS Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) training. This means I can tailor my approach to fit your individual need.
My current work environments include private practice and working for the NHS. Previous experience has been in low-cost Counselling Services and 6th form colleges.
I believe it's very important that you find the right therapist for you. The relationship that we will have is vital to your therapeutic journey. You need to feel comfortable and secure in your therapy sessions.
I offer Face to Face sessions, Telephone sessions and Walk and Talk Therapy (counselling sessions which take place walking outside). All of which are 50 minutes duration.
In addition to working with individual clients, I also offer couples the space to explore their relationship. You may have recently had a change in your situation which has upset the balance between you, or there may be issues that have been affecting your relationship for some time.
I will work alongside you, giving support to both and allowing time for each of you to have a voice.
I can also work with couples who have already made the decision to separate so that arrangements and discussions involving children can be agreed upon in a neutral, unbiased setting.
Sometimes it can be hard for young people to talk for 50 minutes, especially about things they are finding really difficult to manage. I work in a very flexible way, adapting to each individual and allow space for art work, poetry, writing - aiming to find the right way for each person to express themselves.
