Julie Carter Supervisor Counsellor NLP Practitioner & Life Coach
Sometimes we experience challenges within our lives which leave us in conflict with ourselves and others, that no matter what we do to try and change things we end up with "here we go again"
I can help you identify and understand your thoughts, feelings and the patterns that underpin your problems alongside making the necessary changes to "live the life you choose"
"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain" anon
For some it can take great courage to seek help, particularly if you are new to therapy. I have undergone personal therapy as part of my training and fully understand what it is like to be a client. Within our first session together you will have the time and space to tell me about your problems and ask any questions you might have. I will take some details, tell you a little more about the way I work and then, together, we can decide the best way forward.
As a compassionate, caring and experienced counsellor I will provide a welcoming, safe, supportive and confidential space for you to explore your choices. You will have full control in choosing what you share with me and I will not judge, criticise or tell you what to do. My role is to listen and respect your views and opinions

I work with individuals, couples and children by appointment only, running a flexible diary to accommodate your life style whenever possible. I offer both short and long-term therapy, recognising that each individual is unique and accordingly there is no time limit on the number of sessions offered.
I welcome informal enquiries about counselling, the way I work and am happy to answer any questions you may have.
Trust and confidentiality are essential ingredients within the counselling relationship, and therefore I treat all information you share with me as confidential. As a member of the National Counselling Society I abide by their ethical guidlines for good practice and work to their professional conduct procedures. This means you can be confident that I abide by a strict code of confidentuality, recieve appropriate supervision, alongside being committed to personal ongoing training and development of my practice, for the benefit of my clients.
As a Integrative counsellor I can offer a variety of interventions from different counselling models in order to respond appropriately to the needs of each individual. This approach supports my philosophy that each person is unique and therefor no one approach suits all.
Our sessions together primarily will be in the form of discussion, however if appropriate, and with your permission, I may at times offer you additional creative interventions. Believing that "our hands can express and find meaning, when our voice may struggle to do so".
My therapy room provides a private, warm and calm space, easy parking, alongside both train and bus stations are within walking distance.
