About me

I work according to the principles that

  • Everyone is OK
  • Everyone has the capacity to think and influence their life by the decisions they make
  • Any decision can be changed

People come to Counselling and Psychotherapy for a number of reasons. You may be trying to cope with the loss of a partner or family member, the breakdown or difficulty of a relationship, be trying to make sense of something that happened in your childhood or any other personal reason. You may have a need to identify and change what you might think is unhealthy behaviour. If you are not clear about your reasons for starting Counselling or Psychotherapy that's okay.

Many of us experience a general sense of unhappiness, anxiety or dissatisfaction and use therapy as a way of finding out what our feelings, thoughts and behaviours mean. There are no right or wrong reasons. It just takes willingness, and time, to look closer at your concerns which you cannot make sense of yourself.

I offer a supportive, safe, confidential environment in which you have the opportunity to explore your difficulties and gain personal insight with a view to developing strategies for change.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP),   As a member I abide by by their ethical guidelines of good practice and ethics. I also have regular clinical supervision.
