In 2008, ProHealth Counselling Service began offering a free of charge face to face and online counselling service to local General Practices.
In 2009 & 2010 ProHealth won a contract with the Sure Start centre in Darlaston to provide brief therapy as part of a self esteem programme.
Also in 2009 the company began providing CPCAB counselling training courses and in house CPD training. Currently we also deliver NCFE and ABC Awards courses.
In 2010 the service extended to private self referrals for individuals or families and young people, utilising two newly opened consultancy suites.
In 2014 we began working with the local council supporting their employee assistance programme by providing counselling and mental health support.
As the company goes from strength to strength, in 2018 we are continuing to offer free counselling to selected members of the public as well as low cost therapy to counselling students in the Tamworth, Lichfield, Sutton and Erdington areas.
ProHealth also has an in-house team of experienced supervisors covering the Tamworth, Lichfield, Sutton and Erdington areas. Special rates for students and block bookings are avaialble.
Training, qualifications & experience
All therapists and supervisors at ProHealth are qualified from level 4 -7 and practice integrative counselling. We also have Doctorate Level 8 Psychology team members
All staff are members of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists or the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.
We have comprehensive insurance coverage including a group indemnity and public liability policy through Towergate Insurance.
All staff will be qualified to and therefore compulsorily expected to join the HPC register of counsellors when it opens this year.Also all staff are expected to undertake the BACP recommended amount of clinical supervision and continuing professional development by way of attending in-house workshops.
Our senior therapists and supervisors have years of experience and lecture on our NCFE and ABC Awards level 2-6 courses.

Online support and therapy
Some sessions are free to members of the public who can attain referrals from their doctor.
Self-referrals are charged for sessions on a means tested basis so that no-one is excluded from our service. Where individuals are able to pay we charge £40 for individual counselling, £50 for couples or family work, £45 for work with young persons under 18, £45 per hour for supervision.
There are concessions available for counselling students and for block bookings.
