About me

I am an integrative psychotherapist with fifteen years experience working therapeutically with children between 3-18 years, and I also have extensive experience working with adults. As well as my private work I have worked within two leading children's charitable organisations, both as a therapist, a supervisor and a trainer and presently for an organisation working with adults suffering with depression and anxiety.

I offer support for issues such as:-

Anxiety; Depression; Bereavement; Low self esteem; Bullying; Anger; Abuse; Family separation; Self harm; ..........

..........as well as many other issues.

I am a trained EMDR practitioner working with adults who have PTSD and have suffered trauma in their lives.

My belief is that every child and adult has a right to a healthy, happy and safe life. I believe that these qualities should be the minimum requirements for a person to develop a strong sense of self, a balanced state of mind and high self esteem. I believe that, with support, people can make positive decisions about their lives and feel valued, seen and heard.

If you feel you could benefit from my support, please contact me to find out if I can help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked for over nine years within a leading charitable organisation as a child psychotherapist, specialising in bereavement and sexual abuse and as a trainer in Level 3 counselling skills. I also worked for 18 months as a school counsellor taking referrals for many issues mentioned above. I presently work within another organisation, counselling adults suffering from depression and anxiety, as well as within my private practice.

My background, previously, was in early childhood development and before that, I was a graphic designer and illustrator. I continue to work creatively with young people, when appropriate.

My qualifications are:-

Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling with Children & Young People (BACP Accred)

Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling with Adults (BACP Accred)

Post Grad Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy with Children & Young People

Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy with Children & Young People (BACP Accred)

MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy

EMDR Practitioner

Supervisors certificate

PTLLS Teaching certificate (Level 3) I have recently worked as an NCFE Level 3 counselling skills tutor.

I hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance and have an enhanced CRB disclosure.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
