I have been helping people in difficulty for over 17 years and been able to support people such as yourself through distressing situations by listening with care and compassion to their stories. This includes offering techniques to support their recovery. Services I offer include individual and couples counselling/relationship therapy, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, feeling suicidal and coping with the results of past trauma.. I have also helped those suffering from loss and bereavement as well as those troubled by stress and anger difficulties.. I have also worked with those suffering from sexual abuse in one way or another. For other issues I can help with, please see the list below.
By exploring together in some depth, we can then be able to find a way through so you may then live a much easier and happier life.
For some this might open their understanding of life from a 'bigger picture' point of view, sometimes embracing a spiritual perspective which can transform one's understanding of what life is all about.
Our work together may take just a short time - or longer according to the situation.
I believe in being there for you - not just being a 'counsellor' or 'psychotherapist' and I commit myself personally with all my heart and soul to finding a way to help you be free from whatever is troubling you.
We all deserve to have a joyful and fulfilling life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Master's Degree in Psychotherapy gained at the Karuna Institute in Devon. This has given me a deeper view of people's suffering in terms of their journey through life.
Previous to that, I obtained a diploma in Integrative Psychosynthesis - which draws on different traditions of psychotherapy thus enabling a more flexible approach to issues.
This was gained at the Revision Centre of Integrative Psychosynthesis in London.
I have also obtained a diploma in Couples Counselling from CCPE in London.
I am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and have trained in other modalities such as CBT and EFT.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
