About me
Are you feeling lost? Not sure what to do or where to turn? Feel that you need to talk to someone but not sure that anyone will understand, or where to start? Maybe you feel a sense of unease and are not sure why. Or you know what the problem is but are afraid of taking the next step. Counselling can help.
My name is Paula and I am a fully qualified counsellor trained and experienced in Person-Centred Counselling, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
My Approach
I am open-minded, compassion focused and work in a non-judgemental way. I provide a warm therapeutic space where you can safely explore your current difficulties.
As we are all different I tailor my approach to the unique needs and individuality of each client, meaning I work in a very authentic and non-prescriptive way.
How Counselling Can Help
Sometimes the challenges we have experienced in life can leave us with unresolved trauma and with a sense of feeling lost, disconnected from ourselves and others. Or even wondering if we have gone mad. It can be very helpful to talk to a counsellor about what you are going through and feel that someone understands where you are coming from and offers the appropriate support for you to overcome your difficulties.
Counselling helps you to understand what is best for you, connects you with your authentic self and your innate wisdom while supporting you in making the changes you need to make in order to live the life you deserve.
Area's of Expertise
My areas of expertise are: depression; anxiety; recovery from narcissistic parental abuse; inner child work; psychedelic integration; people who identify as HSP (Highly Sensitive Personality); and spiritual awakening.
I work with all belief systems, and with people who don’t identify as having a belief system.
I always work to the client's agenda and needs therefore I am flexible in the amount of sessions I can offer any individual client.
Remote Counselling
Currently I only offer remote counselling sessions(Zoom & telephone). The advantage of this is you can have therapy from the comfort of your own home or anywhere in the world providing you have access to a good internet connection. It is also helpful for digital nomads or people who travel for work. You also have more choice in therapists as you are not limited by geographic location.
Getting Started
I offer a free no obligation 20 minute telephone or video consultation. We will discuss what has brought you to counselling, what you want to gain from therapy and how we will work together. I will assess if counselling is suitable and discuss with you other other treatment options or services that may be more appropriate or helpful if we determine that counselling is not right at this time.
The consultation offers you the opportunity to get a feel if I am the right therapist for you.
If I sound like a good fit for you feel free to get in touch to see if I can help.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
