About me

I am an experienced BACP and BABCP counsellor, I offer one to one counselling in a confidential setting. From time to time we are faced with difficulties /confusion. I will endeavour to help you address these issues that are preventing you from leading a more fulfilling and satisfying life. I offer a confidential, non-judgmental, empathic approach drawing on three main schools of psychology - Person Centered  Psychodynamic, and CBT. I also use solution focused techniques.

Do you sometimes feel that life gets you down? Are there some difficulties or struggles that you would like to make sense of? Would you benefit from talking to someone who is empathic and non judgmental? I believe that when you come and see me that you feel listened to and herd, and that I genuinely try and feel what its like to walk in your shoes.

I came into counselling due to my own personal difficulties and struggles, dealing with loss/relationships and coping with painful emotions. At that time it felt as if there was nowhere to go and no one to talk to. If this sounds familiar then maybe I can help you.

Apart from my private practice I also work for the NHS in Birmingham. As a consequence I work with many presenting problems and have a wide experience of common difficulties including relationships, anxiety, low esteem and depression

I am committed to continuing personal and professional development and regularly attend training as specified in BACP and BABCP.

My practice is in Bromsgrove and close to M5 and M42 motorway junctions. Please feel free to phone or e-mail me or alternatively you can text me.I can usually offer appointments within a few days and if you prefer evenings or weekends then this can be arranged.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
