About me

I am a psychotherapist and I offer both short and long-term therapy for adults, young adults and couples. I am also a mother with children in their twenties.

When life can sometimes feel challenging, stressful and even unbearable and when talking with friends or family isn't an option (or may even be making things worse for you), therapy may be the answer.

I provide a safe and confidential face to face psychoanalytical therapy service and I work with the issues and needs brought to me by my clients.

I endeavour to help you explore your problems and understand them more fully, both in the context of your present and your earlier life experiences. I also aim to help you find ways to manage your issues more effectively, and, where possible, to make changes that will enable you to improve your life and your relationships.

I have consultation rooms in Hertford and in SG2. Please make any further enquiries via the counselling directory website

Training, qualifications & experience

  • I have a diploma in Psychodynamic and Humanistic psychotherapy
I cover all areas of therapy including Anxiety, Depression, Abuse (sexual and domestic violence), psychosexual concerns and issues relating to suicide.
As well as working with clients at my practice in SG2, I also work at GP surgeries in Hertfordshire where I counsel patients in short-term therapy.
I have previously lectured in counselling at Hertford Regional College in Ware and I also run workshops in Mental Health Awareness/personal development for schools.
I am an accredited member of the BACP and UKRCP.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
