About me

Life is a journey which can be complex and challenging.
At times we thrive on this journey with enthusiasm and courage. But often we struggle with feelings of anxiety, fear, sadness, despair and shame. We can feel confused or overwhelmed. We may even feel that we are falling apart if a traumatic life event takes place. At such times it can be useful to see a therapist.

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist who brings warmth, energy and sensitivity.

I have worked in the public, private and voluntary sectors for thirty years. I have experience of working with individuals, couples, families and groups. My therapeutic work experience includes working with young people in local authority care, as a drug and alcohol counsellor, a school counsellor, a clinical manager for a counselling service in North London, a telephone counsellor for an  employment assisted programme.

In my private practice I work in a way that is described as integrative. This means that I work with clients in a way that encourages the individual to explore areas of his/her life that are causing concern, distress or anxiety. Different theories and techniques may be considered. I see therapy as a journey which the client and myself embark on. This can be exciting as well as challenging and it is my job to ensure the client can stay with this process in a safe and supportive environment.

I offer both short and long term work. This will be discussed when we first meet for an assessment.
