Alice Cowley BPC Registered Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist
Depression, anxiety and loss can feel overwhelming if faced on your own, and it can be hard to see the way forward.
As an experienced Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist I aim to provide a safe, consistent and completely confidential environment in which you can begin at your own pace to explore your thoughts and feelings, without fear of judgement or rejection.
Together we will think about your experiences, how you feel about them and how we can work towards positive change.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at WPF Therapy, a recognised centre of clinical and academic excellence. I gained an advanced Post-graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice, accredited by Roehampton University. My further training as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist was at the Lincoln Clinic, now part of the British Psychotherapy Foundation.
I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council to practise as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist. I am a member of the FPC (graduate body of WPF) and the British Psychotherapy Foundation.
As a member of FPC and as a registrant with the BPC, I am bound by stringent codes of ethical practice.
My experience is extensive. I have seen many people as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist at WPF Therapy, have worked as an accredited Senior Counsellor in the field of trauma, and as a Counsellor in St George's University Counselling Service. I worked for 4 years as a Cancer Counsellor in the NHS and I am now a supervisor and teacher on the Postgraduate diploma at WPF Therapy.

I charge £60 for each initial consultation session.
Payment for the initial consultation is by cheque or cash, as I do not have credit card facilities, and is payable at the time of the session.
My practice is in Wandsworth, close to Wandsworth Town and Earlsfield Railway Stations, and accessible by local buses. Parking is free for most of the day.
An initial consultation usually consists of two sessions and is an essential part of starting therapy. During this consultation we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your past life and experiences and your present difficulties, and you will have a chance to find out how therapy is likely to feel. There is no obligation to continue after the initial consultation.
