About me

Do you feel that you need some professional help with your issues? Is life dragging you down? Do you need to find a way forward with more confidence? I am a Senior Accredited Counsellor with over sixteen years experience of working as a therapist. My practice is well established and based in New Malden, KT3. I am committed to offering counselling in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment.

How I Work
As well as offering Person Centred counselling, I often work using an integrative approach. In addition I have much experience of working within a time limited framework when addressing addiction issues. I work with clients on both short and long term contracts, depending upon the presenting issue. I endeavour to empower individuals, to explore a way forward and to be alongside them, as they unravel whatever is troubling them. My practice in New Malden, is also within easy reach of the surrounding areas of Kingston, Richmond, Surrey and Wimbledon

I am experienced in helping clients who are having difficulties with:

  • Stress
  • Relationships
  • Panic Attacks
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement, loss
  • Redundancy and work issues
  • Depression
  • Addiction including alcohol and drugs
  • Self esteem

I also have much experience of working with student counsellors who are in training.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at Regents College and the Metanoia Institute in London. My core training is as a Person Centred Counsellor. In addition I have completed training in CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused techniques.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
