About me
I have been a BABCP Accredited CBT therapist for over 18 years. I have built and maintained my practice from the start to provide a warm, welcoming and calm environment for those seeking therapy and help in overcoming psychological difficulties and resolving distressing symptoms.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and EMDR
CBT - (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) is helpful for Anxiety and Depression. I work with adults and children who have a wide range of psychological and behavioural problems including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Attacks, Phobias, Low Self Esteem, Social Anxiety and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy provides strategies to manage distressing conditions that can effect the overall quality of a persons life. It focuses on addressing problems in a positive way teaching skills and approaches to make positive and effective changes.
EMDR - (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a specific therapy to help overcome traumatic memories such as road traffic accidents and personal injury. As an Accredited EMDR Practitioner I am able to offer EMDR for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder as well as Travel or Passenger Anxiety, Driving phobias and Pain Management.
BSP - Brain spotting - is a relatively new psychotherapy approach that uses the field of vision to locate eye positions or "brain spots" that correlate to inner emotional trauma or distress. BSP can lead to fast effective healing and is helpful with a wide range of issues including PTSD, Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Depression, Pain issues and Social Anxiety.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
EMDR is especially helpful where people have been traumatised and still have unpleasant or disturbing memories that they find difficult to deal with. This can often result in flashbacks, nightmares, over caution, being jumpy, angry, irritable and withdrawn. This state can impact significantly on an individual's life making it difficult to "move on" from the event (or events). These are typical stress reactions but left unresolved can have a long term negative impact. EMDR is an effective and efficient approach in the treatment of trauma and in addressing ongoing or unresolved symptoms that have persisted. EMDR can help identify and target problems and regain control when issues appear overwhelming.
