Janet Edwards MA MBACP (Accred)
Hello, I'm a BACP accredited counsellor which means that I've been assessed as a competent, ethical and independent therapist. This is in addition to being listed on their accredited register. I've worked with children, young people and adults (aged 5 to 82) in a variety of environments in Halton, Cheshire and Merseyside over the last 17 years. If there's something troubling you - maybe your levels of anger, fear, anxiety, depression, stress or your relationships - then there's a good chance I'll be able to help you. I work from home in Widnes and offer individual counselling with a friendly, genuine, down to earth approach. Please take a look at my website (click on link above) for much more info.

Choosing a counsellor can be a confusing and worrying task, especially if you're not feeling on top form. If you're unsure, my suggestion would be to ring around a few and get a feel for how they work and what type of person they are. You are the customer and have to be satisfied that your money is well spent! I am happy for you to ring me to sound me out. You can also decide at the end of your first session whether you feel comfortable about working with me and wish to continue - there is no obligation to carry on. And the number of sessions is flexible, depending upon your needs, you don't have to have a certain number.
There's more information about types of problems and common worries about counselling on my website.
When working with children, I hold a parent/carer-only session first (chargeable) then I work with the child on a one to one basis. When the work has ended, a review session is held with the parent/carer which is free of charge.
