About me

I am an experienced, friendly counsellor, working at Re...root, an independent organisation in Richmond that matches people with the right therapists. We help people with depression, anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, stress, panic disorder, low self-confidence and relationship difficulties amongst other things. We offer short term or longer term (more in-depth) work depending on what you feel you need, as well as flexible appointment times including evening sessions and Saturdays. Have a look at our website at www.re-root.com to find out more about us.

Re...root is just off George Street in Richmond town centre. As well as adults, we see young people and children who are feeling sad or anxious; we work with difficult teenage issues such as phobias, social anxiety disorder, eating disorders and self-harm. Our couples therapists help with recovery from affairs and betrayals and dealing with possible separation and divorce. Our family therapists can work with multiple family members to help solve relationship issues and enable the family to support each other better.

The therapists at Re...root use a variety of ways of working depending on what makes sense for you. We can help you look at how current thoughts, feelings and behaviours may be unhelpful and keeping you stuck (with CBT - cognitive behavioural therapy) as well as looking at your earlier experiences to help you understand where some of these unhelpful beliefs and behaviour patterns might come from (psychodynamic work). Simply reviewing things with someone outside the situation can often help you get to the root of the problem, as well as helping you see ways you might do things differently.

All the therapists at Re...root are qualified to at least MA level and have at least 5 years experience. Of course, when you are looking for a counsellor, it's also very important to find someone you feel comfortable with. We are happy to talk on the phone or by email, to help you find the right counsellor for you here at Re...root.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
