Sara Lindsay MBACP Accred Reg, Dip Sup Humanistic Counsellor & Supervisor
About me
In my 15 years counselling experience, clients tell me that finding a counsellor can feel daunting, keep going! Are you feeling unhappy, confused, dis-satisfied, upset about aspects of your life, but what you’ve tried so far hasn't brought the change you've wanted?
What drew me to counselling was a sense of just how much our personal history and modern life takes out of us, and I wanted to find a way of redressing that balance for others.
I am a BACP accredited counsellor committed to working in the Guildford area.
I offer daytime and evening appointments in my private, comfortable, relaxed, ground floor office in my house, that opens out onto my garden. (see a picture of my office below)
I work on a 1-1 or couples basis, short-term and long-term, face-to-face/Skype/phone.
I aim to get an accurate sense of what life is like for you, so together we can work towards the solution to your problem, and find the change you want to make. This would happen through:
forming a good, solid working [partnership; really listening to you; helping you through knowledge; objective perspective; feedback and utilising all the psychological models at my disposal for your benefit.
Above all, you'll know that you don't have to face your problems alone anymore.
Being a trusted professional is important for me and the counselling industry as a whole, so I continue to train and invest in my skills and expertise for your benefit.

Member organisations
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
