Carol Hutt Dip(HE) BA(Hons) MBACP(Accred) UKRCP
Welcome to my profile. As a Person-Centred counsellor, I can offer you a warm, professional and confidential counselling service. Fully accredited, with fifteen years experience, I currently work in two Primary Care practices in Skipton, North Yorkshire, alongside my private counselling practice. I also work for North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) Staff Care Network, offering counselling to their employees.
I am passionate about my work and feel privileged to be invited into clients lives for a while. The counselling session time is for and about you, the client, and those issues which are important and of concern to you - where the relationship between counsellor and client is central. I see my role as active companion alongside you as you explore possibilities and changes you may wish to make in your life - changes which feel right for you.

The Person-Centred counselling approach assumes the basic belief in and trust that each of us has, within ourselves, the resources and capacity to achieve our full potential. As a Person-Centred counsellor, I provide a safe, trusting environment, working with you to enable this to take place.
I have successfully worked with clients aged 16years upwards, and have experience with a wide range of presenting issues and concerns, for example, relationship difficulties, work-related stresses, job insecurities, bereavement, historic abuse, anxiety, depression and low self-esteem/confidence.
I have experience of working with diversity - gender, age, sexuality, religion, ability. With each client, I welcome and acknowledge such difference as an important part of what that person brings to the therapeutic relationship.
I like to accommodate individual needs regarding session times, so aim to be flexible, offering appointments at various times through the day, evenings and occasionally, weekends, if this is helpful.
I am committed to my ongoing personal and professional development, and engage in activities and training which I feel will enhance my practice.
I abide by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Ethical Framework for Good Practice, and am fully insured to work as a counsellor.
