Sarah Nieboer ( BACP, Dip.psych)
Hello, my name is Sarah. As a counselor and psychotherapist I work with adults and couples both young and old who are affected by depression, anxiety, emotional dependency, eating disorders and obsessive compulsive disorders.
Mindfulness is the most effective way of managing your anxiety and depression. This method is currently the most popular way of treating anxiety and depression over and above any medication. This is something I have a vast amount of experience in and it's an approach I would use to help treat these issues.
I have found early life issues and events can affect the way we relate to others and the way we see ourselves. These issues and events can then manifest themselves as anxiety, depression, emotional dependancy, eating disorders and obessive compulsive disorders.
Some of these manifestions or behvaiours we are aware of and others our hidden. With councelling the behaviours we are unaware of and find difficult to manage can be discovered and understood. This new understanding will then integrate into our exisiting personalities and allow us to have a more rewarding and meaningful relationship with others.
Together we will explore these behaviours using a range of techniques such as meditation, mindfulness among others to discover your true nature.
I have been residing in London for 20 years and live 10 minutes walk from Baron's Court tube station.
I am both a proud mother and grandmother with a wealth of life and counselling experience. My hobbies include painting gardening, walking and the arts.
Training, qualifications & experience
I began at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have a Diploma in Psychotherapy which is both BACP and UKCP accredited
I am a qualified Supervisor from the British Association of Psychology and work with Supervises in many different models.
I went on to the Tavistock and Portman Clinic and gained experience of working with couples and attachment theory, which showed me how relationships start in early life and how this can influence other relationships. Later I went to the Institute of Psychoanalysis for further training and courses.
