Please read on if you would like information as to the way in which I work;
As a fully qualified Integrative counsellor l collaboratively select which model of therapy is applicable/appropriate for each individual clients needs from a wide range of theories: CBT and EMDR (NICE and World Health Organisation recommended evidence-based therapy)Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Existential and Humanistic.
This approach is based on the fact we are all unique and belief that no one model can fully capture this. By having experience and practice in a range of approaches I am able to tailor the therapy to each client's specific needs. This entire process is based on the establishment of a genuine relationship between counsellor and client which in my experience stands at the ‘core’ of any therapeutic union. I will endeavour to facilitate the client to achieve better overall well-being, make the best choices for themselves and establish what steps to take to move forward at their own pace. All within a confidential space where the client can express emotions and personal issues in a non-judgmental environment.
I am a client-focused therapist, which permits you to direct which type of therapy you may feel you require, say for example, purely CBT - A goal-oriented therapy which facilitates you to unravel and identify current issues concerning dysfunctional thoughts, emotions and behaviours. You may require exploring past experiences which are preventing you to move forward or future-focused practice with the aim of facilitating you to determine and achieve personal goals, interests and objectives.
Life can be a challenge at times. Once you have made the choice to seek counselling sourcing a therapist can present its own issues; if you have 'Any' questions please feel free to contact me...

Member organisations
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
