About me

I have extensive experience in working with people struggling with anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), panic attacks and other anxiety symptoms.

I not only offer psychological knowledge and support, but also physiological. If your experiencing any of the above, you will know that anxiety is as uncomfortable physically as mentally.

Once you have made the choice to seek counselling sourcing a therapist can present its own challenging issues; ‘Where do you start? Below is a blog I wrote for Psychologies Magazine lifelabs, to assist you to do just that.

Why? - Because the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to any model of counselling theory.

About me:

  • My private practice was established in 2008
  • I have worked within the mental health sector since 2004
  • I am a psychological well-being training consultant for various organisations
  • I am affiliated with 'The Integrated Practice' - 127 Harley Street.
  • I am an accredited member of the BACP

Please read on if you would like information as to the way in which I work;

As a fully qualified Integrative counsellor l collaboratively select which model of therapy is applicable/appropriate for each individual clients needs from a wide range of theories: CBT and EMDR (NICE and World Health Organisation recommended evidence-based therapy)Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Existential and Humanistic.

This approach is based on the fact we are all unique and belief that no one model can fully capture this. By having experience and practice in a range of approaches I am able to tailor the therapy to each client's specific needs. This entire process is based on the establishment of a genuine relationship between counsellor and client which in my experience stands at the ‘core’ of any therapeutic union. I will endeavour to facilitate the client to achieve better overall well-being, make the best choices for themselves and establish what steps to take to move forward at their own pace. All within a confidential space where the client can express emotions and personal issues in a non-judgmental environment.

I am a client-focused therapist, which permits you to direct which type of therapy you may feel you require, say for example, purely CBT - A goal-oriented therapy which facilitates you to unravel and identify current issues concerning dysfunctional thoughts, emotions and behaviours. You may require exploring past experiences which are preventing you to move forward or future-focused practice with the aim of facilitating you to determine and achieve personal goals, interests and objectives.

Life can be a challenge at times. Once you have made the choice to seek counselling sourcing a therapist can present its own issues; if you have 'Any' questions please feel free to contact me...

My practice rooms are located in Greenwich www.greenwichwellnessrooms.co.uk a 2-minute walk from Greenwich mainline station and DLR making it easily accessible from Central London and Canary Wharf.  There is parking in the surrounding streets.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
