Nicola Croote, MBACP (accred.)
I am a BACP accredited counsellor (since 2009) and have been qualified since 2002. I work with long or short term issues and can help you understand and change the thoughts and feelings that are holding you back from reaching your potential using a number of approaches depending on your needs.
How I work
I am an integrative counsellor which means that I integrate different ways of working. I offer both short and long term therapy. Short term work would include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which explores the way in which your thoughts affect your feelings and ultimately your actions or behaviour. Longer term psychotherapy means looking more deeply at behavioural patterns which may be holding you back or causing you distress.
What to expect
Your first session will be an initial assessment in order for us both to determine if we can work together and will make a good match. It will be a chance for you to talk about what brings you to therapy and what you would like to achieve from coming. We will also discuss the length of time you want to invest in yourself and how we can work together to achieve your goals. Counselling is a commitment to yourself both in time and financially with best results being achieved if you can attend weekly appointments which we will schedule at the same time each week. The number of sessions you may need will really depend on you and what you want to gain from therapy and is something that we will discuss upon meeting.
My website will provide further information and testimonials from previous clients.
