I will do all I can to help you feel safe and comfortable during counselling.
Before seeking support you may feel many emotions; my role is to give you space and time where you can feel heard, valued, respected and supported in a confidential environment.
I am BACP accredited and UKRC registered.
I am a member of Oxford Psychotherapy Society.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been counselling now for nearly 20 years, and find my work very rewarding.
Beforehand I taught and offered pastoral support in secondary schools. I went on to work as a counsellor with teenagers for an education authority and now I run a private practice for adults, couples, young people and families in Oxford.
My initial training was as a Person Centred counsellor. Now I work integratively, in whatever way feels right for you. The focus may be practical or spiritual; it varies according to what you feel you need.
As well as working with individuals I have worked widely with couples, with people going through loss and bereavement, and with those who are living with anxiety and depression.
I work extensively with people and the families of people who have Autism and Aspergers.
I am a fully accredited counsellor: a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors.
I abide by the Code of Ethics published by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
