My role is to respect your individuals needs and help you to cope with and work through what is happening in your world now, at this present time.
This may be something you may find difficult or impossible to do with family or friends and you may not have this space in other areas of your life.
To create a space where you will feel able to talk freely with me and feel safe to explore your feelings and thoughts, helping you understand your feelings and where they are coming from.
Our counselling relationship will develop in to one of confidence and trust and the process will work if you feel able to open up and to share your thoughts and feelings with me.
My aim is to support you in the challenges that you have been facing. To support you with your choices that would allow you to live your life as you would wish to.
Entering into a therapeutic counselling relationship with me can be likened to opening the door to self discovery and change.
The aim of therapy is "for you to become the person that you want to be."
I work with the whole person looking at your needs. Working with the situations you may feel stuck with, looking further than the problems you present with, looking at underlying causes. Working with you to give you the resources to take back control of your life and put in perspective what is causing your distress in your life. I do this without judgment, criticism or attempting to influence you towards a particular course
I believe in "the uniqueness and worth of each individual and that we each deserve respect for our capacity to choose our direction in life and our own values to live by."
I have a genuine desire to help my clients overcome their distress and draw on my life skills and experiences from my nursing background.
I have many transferable skills that I can bring to the counselling relationship from years experiences working as a Health Professional, Business Manager and within an Occupational Health Setting.
Counselling is a process that involves change and it can be a difficult decision to make whether to enter into counselling.
May Be You Feel You Should Be Able To Cope On Your Own.
You have taken the first step towards change. Call me to consider entering into counselling for help rather than facing what is distressing you alone.
