About me

I have been working, first as a counsellor and now as a psychotherapist, for the last 20 years. In my private practice I see adult individuals and couples. I enjoy the experience of both short and long term therapy with my clients. I see some clients for as little as a few weeks and others for many years.

I began my training in 1990 as a Couple Counsellor with Relate . I then trained in Transactional Analysis and became a UKCP accredited psychotherapist in 2004.

I was first attracted to Transactional Analysis (TA) because I found the theory to be both practical and accessible. This may be because TA uses techniques which my clients find easy to understand. Eric Berne, who founded TA, had a passionate belief that the theory of what happened in therapy should be understandable to all, and I particularly like the mutuality of this philosophy.

My practice is based in the countryside. It is within easy striking distance of both Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells, but many of my clients come from further afield. My therapy room has a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, which my clients often tell me they find helpful.
