'There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you' - Maya Angelou
I am here to listen and help you make sense of your story. In the process of telling and being heard, lives can be transformed and healed. You need not suffer alone.
Professional, Confidential, Respectful - psychotherapy and counselling. Specialising in the treatment of chronic anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma and relationship difficulties.
I am a highly experienced and fully qualified therapist with extensive training and life experience. I have worked in the field of mental health for over fifteen years, and I specialise in helping people resolve long-standing psychological difficulties, such as chronic anxiety, depression, self-harm and trauma.
Psychotherapy and counselling provides you with a safe, confidential space, where you will be heard by someone who knows how to listen in a way that is focused on you. We will explore what is troubling you, and we will look at the ways of thinking, feeling and behaving that are no longer helpful to you. The counselling space also gives you a place where you can experiment with new ways of being. People find a course of counselling is an effective aid to discovering new possibilities for themselves. Counselling also can increase emotional-resilience, self-understanding, and improved capacities for vitality and intimacy.
Counselling can help you move beyond
- panic and anxiety
- low self esteem
- bereavement and other types of loss
- lack of direction or feeling stuck
- difficult life transitions
- relationship problems
I am an experienced therapist and a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). My professional training has been extensive over the past 15 years. At the heart of my work is a deep respect for the uniqueness and dignity of each person that I work with. It is my view that in seeking therapy people are making an important and courageous step towards taking control of their well-being.
Please note - I do not provide therapy for couples or for children

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
