Geoff Thompson BA, MA, MSc. UKCP Accredited
I specialise in helping people, just like you, here at my home practice in WV5. I have nearly twenty five years experience of helping clients to overcome all sort of personal, couple and family relationship problems. I offer a safe and comfortable environment where you can talk openly, and in the strictest confidence about your problem.
One-to-One - Counselling
Do you feel stuck in your life?
Do you have a problem that you are unable to solve on your own?
Do you need help getting through the difficult times?
Do you feel that you are unable to realise your potential?
Do you lack confidence in your ability ?
You might be struggling to cope with a problem at work, at home or in the family. You might be finding it hard to cope with the loss of your job, a bereavement or the ill health of a beloved. You might have been diagnosed with stress, anxiety or depression. You might be struggling to cope with the ever increasing demands of living your life. Things might just have become too much for you. I can help you get your life back on track.
A successful career in human resources gives me a unique insight and understanding for helping you with problems in the workplace.
One-to-One - Psychotherapy
People who live with a diagnosis of a mental health condition still have the potential to lead a healthier and more satisfying life. I will work with you to help you overcome problems of the past and their influence on your life in the present.I will work with you to help you develop strategies that, working in conjunction with your medication, will help help you to develop the inner resolve to make your life the best that it can be.
It is very difficult to overcome a problem of which you are part. Also as a relationship counsellor, with no axe to grind and being completely independent of your problem, I am uniquely placed to help you get you relationship back on track. I will help you to take a step back, look at where you are, and help you to open up possibilities for finding a direction for moving forward. I will help you to open up the channels of communication and not only get you talking but listening to each other.
I work with families to help you overcome the problems that can too easily lead to a breakdown in relationships with people even those who are very close to you. I have a track record of helping families to find a way forward through seemingly impossible. I will help you to communicate with each other, to listen and develop a willingness to find a way forward.
It is my belief that the client not only has the problem but, somewhere within them, they hold a solution that will work for them. So, my approach is very much to work with clients and help them to develop their own options for moving forward .
I will be actively listen to you without being judgemental. I will encourage you to talk freely about your thoughts and feelings. I will feed my responses back to you in order to clarify your understanding of your situation. It is through this raising of your awareness that you will more clearly see the choices you have and be able to identify more readily a possible solution, or way forward, that feels right for you.
It is very difficult to clearly evaluate what is going on when you are part of the problem that you want to solve. Talking to a professional counsellor will help you to develop the clarity and objective thinking that will enable you to find your own solution to your problem.
The first and most important step in overcoming any problem is to recognise that you need the help of an experienced counsellor. The next step is to make contact. You are very welcome to call me for an informal chat, or email me, in the first instance. Your call or email will be the turning point in making your life better.

I also see clients in the rural village of Trysull near Wolverhampton WV5 which is located approximately six miles to the South West of Wolverhampton. This is a home practice so I work in rooms in my house that are dedicated to my work with my clients.
Trysull is in a rural location so clients mayl need their own means of transport for getting here.
Alternatively, the main railway and bus stations are located in Wolverhampton. Buses do not travel beyond the adjacent village of Wombourne which is just over two miles away. However, taxis are available either from the village.
There is space for parking at the front of the house.
