About me

My name is Evelyn - welcome to my profile.
I hope the following explains a little about who I am, what counselling and psychotherapy are, how therapy may be able to help you and what qualifies me to work with you.

I am an experienced Integrative Therapist and work mainly with individuals and couples. I also have experience of working with groups. I am based in Surrey where I have a private practice which is situated just two miles off the A3 and junction 10 of the M25. It is well placed for Guildford, Cobham, Esher, Weybridge Dorking and Woking.

Integrative just means that I have been trained in more than one theoretical approach. I use all my training and knowledge in order to find the best way of helping you reach your goals and so achieve the right result for you.

Counselling and psychotherapy are ‘talking therapies’, which means they are conversations people have with a therapist that attempt to help them make sense of their lives and how to make changes.

Good therapy should create a safe, confidential environment that gives you the opportunity to be heard and listened to, some time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings. So you may reach a better understanding of yourself and your relationships with others.
Ideally it can help with strategies, encourages helpful behaviours and builds on existing strengths in order to regain a sense of purpose or direction.

Whatever your problems, whether you are feeling anxious or depressed, have lost a loved one or faced a major crisis there are times we can feel totally isolated, while everyone around us seems absolutely fine. Whether these difficult feelings or experiences are happening now or have happened in the past, I believe therapy can offer a chance to heal and develop.

The working relationship between client and therapist can be an important factor in obtaining a successful outcome from therapy. So my invitation to you is to read on and feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

I look forward to hearing from you.
