I have 20 plus years experience of helping people with a broad range of psychological and physiological issues including anxiety, depression and relationship challenges. Clients come to me for therapy as a result of a crisis, a transitional event or simply the stresses of modern-day living. Awareness is always the first step to providing you with new choices and solutions. My approach navigates and supports you through your journey to self-discovery.
A trusting, confidential and respectful relationship between the client and me is always at the heart of successful therapy. I offer an initial 30-minute free consultation where together we explore how therapy may work for you and how comfortable we feel to work together.

Training, qualifications & experience
My background is in the health service, as a therapy radiographer working in the UK, US and in Ireland. In the 1990s I was also a part-time psychology lecturer for students at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. I then became a counsellor and group facilitator before training as a psychotherapist. In 2000, I left the health service and commenced a full-time private therapy practice in Dublin.
Having returned to the UK, In 2006, I commenced practice in Whitstable, Kent. I work in collaboration with Ruth Hoskins, Body Psychotherapist, and together we facilitate Stress Management Workshops.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

My fees are £60 with a sliding scale to £45 for a 50 minute session. This flexibility can be discussed.
