About me

I am an Accredited BACP Gestalt counsellor and subscribe to their Ethical Framework. I also provide personal development coaching.

With 18+ years of experience, I make use of my skills and experience from specific training in family attachment, trauma, mindfulness, NLP and many other areas.

I am currently offering remote/online sessions via ZOOM (for confidentiality - my preferred choice) and by Telephone.

We can all need help at times to overcome what work, families or life can throw at us. I provide a safe and confidential counselling environment, where you can find the time and space to talk and explore the problems or difficulties you may be experiencing. I offer short and long term counselling.

Some of the issues I have supported people with in my professional career include; Anxiety, relationship issues, depression, family issues, affairs and betrayals, bereavement, anger management, low self esteem, sexuality, stress, work related stress, low self-confidence, redundancy, sexual risk issues and HIV. This is not an exhasutive list of presenting issues and each will be discussed in detail duting our initial telephone chat.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an Accredited Member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and a member of the BACP Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I abide to the BACP Ethical Framework.

I provide counselling for Employee and Insurance organisations, such as: Aviva, AXA Health, Bupa, WorkplaceOptions. I also have experience working as a counsellor with the following organisations:

  • THT (Terence Higgins Trust)
  • CLCC (Camden Listening and Counselling Centre)
  • Affiliate counsellor with Bupa

I attend regular supervision and professional training workshops as part of my continuing professional development, and for my own interest and growth as a practitioner.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information

My fees per 50 minute session are £65 (from 1st April 2024 - my first increase since 2020).

I am able to offer therapy for people on lower incomes or students, this can be discussed during our initial discussion meeting and is generally available for sessions during the day time.

There is a 24 hour cancellation policy on all sessions. In some instances it may be possible to reschedule sessions for the same week. Otherwise, the full fee will be charged. I ask you to make any payment by bank transfer in advance or each session. Fees are subject to regular review, and a reduced fee is charged for any notified or planned holidays.
