About me

We can all need help at times to overcome what work, families or life can throw at us.  I provide a safe and confidential counselling environment, where you can find the time and space to talk and explore the problems or difficulties you may be experiencing.

I am a fully qualified and accredited counsellor offering short and long term counselling either in person face-to-face or over the telephone.

Anxiety, relationship issues, depression, family issues, affairs and betrayals, bereavement, anger management, low self esteem, sexuality, stress, work related stress, low self-confidence, redundancy, sexual risk issues and HIV, are some of the issues I have supported people with in my professional career.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified BACP Accredited Gestalt counsellor, with over 15 years of experience, who subscribes to their Ethical Framework.

I also make use of my skills and experience from specific training in Family Attachment, Trauma, Mindfulness, NLP, and many other areas.

I attend regular supervision and professional training workshops as part of my continuing professional development, and for my own interest and growth as a practitioner.

Experience working as a counsellor with the following organisations - THT (Terence Higgins Trust), CLCC (Camden Listening and Counselling Centre) and as an affiliate counsellor with Bupa.

I provide counselling for Employee and Insurance organisations, such as: Aviva, AXA-PPP, Bupa, Lifeworks, WorkplaceOptions.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Fees

From January 2020, my fees per 50 minute session are:  £60.

There is 48 hour cancellation policy on all sessions. In some instances it may be possible to reschedule sessions for the same week, otherwise the full fee will be charged.

A reduced fee is charged for any notified or planned holidays.

I ask you to make any payment by bank transfer in advance or cash during each session. If you do not keep your payments up to date, I will not be able to keep your counselling space open for you. Fees are subject to regular review.

At times, I can offer therapy for people on lower incomes or students. This can be discussed during our initial discussion meeting and are generally available during the day time.
