About me
I have 20 years experience as a psychotherapist.
Explore the meaning of your life - its events, difficulties, joys - in skilled and interested company. In therapy you can face and transform the spiritual bleakness which settles in when our problems have been too corrosive for too long.
I offer creative, attentive, short and long term psychotherapy and counselling. My work is integrative, which means that I draw on a range of appropriate evidence based and depth interventions to support you. In the sessions we pay attention to the meaning which your current difficulties might have for your overall psycho-spiritual life, as well as looking at ways to move forward with the here and now.
The aim of the therapy is for you to become all that you can be, and for you to be able to live with the harsher and more challenging aspects of your life with more grace, contentment and appreciation. I have written more on my website and you can look at my blog at www.alchemicalgarden.com for more detail, and see my Facebook page, to get more of an idea of the kind of therapy, supervision and research which I am engaged with.
As well as offering therapy I have for many years worked as a clinical supervisor of therapists and counsellors, and in the post graduate education of psychotherapists, both at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (a UKCP organisational member) in West London and as an external examiner of psychotherapy trainings for Middlesex University.
I have worked extensively with anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder, depression, and relationship issues, family issues, post natal depression, issues arising from divorce and separation.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UK Council for Psychotherapy
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
